bio

Arlin Godwin is a Washington, DC-based music recording and multimedia
artist who was also the sole creative force behind the now defunct electronica
act Delphinium Blue. Before that incarnation he worked under the name
Darkangeles (one word pronounced like Los Angels).
He has
written and produced 4 full length albums, 3 EPs, and countless singles
and demos. He's also been nominated more than twenty times for the Washington
Area Music Association's WAMMIE Award and has won twice in the Electronica
category.
Arlin was signed in 2003 to San Francisco label INgrooves home to a
diverse roster of acts including Tina Turner, Thievery Corporation,
The Crystal Method, Jimmy Buffet, Jody Whatley, Paul Oakenfold and Dolly
Parton. Arlin's
first live shows began in June 2004 with a total audience attendance
to date of nearly 300,000. Under the Delphinium Blue name Arlin has
opened for Crystal Waters, Ultra Nate, Ari Gold and Sophie B. Hawkins.
Arlin's
television experience is also extensive, with approximately 25 years
in the business. He was for 3 years Senior Designer for Atlantic Video---the
top post production studio in the Washington, DC area---with a client
list that included HBO, MTV, Comedy Central, ESPN, The Discovery Channel,
Animal
Planet, BET, CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, VH1, Polygram Records and Sony Music.
Arlin
has worked on 4 U.S. Presidential campaigns as a graphic designer and
video editor.
In 2004 Arlin was invited to work with disco diva Donna Summer cutting
a music video for her "Donna Summer Medley". The following
year he was employed by Mercury-Polygram Records to edit a video for
funk mastermind George Clinton and his legendary band Parliament Funkadelic.
The track was "Tear The Roof Off".
In November 2009 Arlin terminated his deal with INgrooves, dropped the
Delphinium Blue name and began to release new music under his own name.
He is currently writing and recording new tracks while simultaneously
working regularly in broadcast television and pursuing innumerable side
projects. He is, in short, a very busy guy.
